Derek has 39 years with Air Products. Started in UK, with 25 years in USA. He has extensive experience in Process engineering , Process Safety, as well as technical and safety risk management.
He is currently Global Process Safety Director. Responsible for Company Process Safety Policies, Procedures, tools, methods and risk management.
Derek is Air Products representative on CGA Standards Council. Over the last 5 years, he has been a significant contributor to advances in risk & consequence models,  with particular focus on hydrogen fires & explosions, with multiple published papers and presentations. He works with various external standards committees in the USA, especially NFPA 2.
Derek has a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering, Cambridge University, UK.
