HIGHLIGHTS OF WORKING GROUPS ACTIVITIES

A collegial work to pave the way towards the EIGA Winter Summit 2025

1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 16, 17, 20 and 21. These are not the winning lottery numbers, but all the EIGA Working Groups which contributed on 19 March to a brainstorming session for the next EIGA Winter Summit in 2025. We would like to thank them for their commitment!

A brand new preparatory organisation is being experimented for our future events: Working Group 20 (Communications) will step in permanently to ensure continuity. It will be helped by the relevant experts of the topic of the year.

In 2025, our theme is 'Digitalisation Drives Safety'. Experts from the relevant EIGA Working Groups contributed to start building a programme that no ChatGPT could draft. Stay tuned for more information in a few months!

Portable Tanks are now allowed to be carried under RID/ADR

EIGA members are still confronted with challenges in some states party to RID/ADR that UN portable tanks are not allowed for free movement and filling in these states. During the UN Joint Meeting in March, EIGA WG-1 Transport representatives were able to get a clarification written into the 2025 version of RID/ADR chapter 4.2 that clearly states that these units are allowed for “free” carriage in states party to RID/ADR.
