Call for Safety Innovation Award 2023 is now open! – “mechanical handling”

Every year EIGA hands out an award that recognises a fresh idea to make our work environments safer: our Safety Innovation Award. This award recognises best health and safety practices and is intended to encourage EIGA member companies to promote best practice, learn and adopt new ideas that benefit their business, the health and safety of their employees, contractors and customers and the communities they work in.
A theme is selected by the EIGA Board each year. For 2023 EIGA is accepting applications related to "Mechanical Handling". The call for nominations is open!
Please restrict your nominations to the topic.
There are two different ways to handle materials in the workplace: manually or mechanically
.      Included in the topic: mechanical handling.
.      This involves the use of special machines and lifting equipment to perform the task or this improves its safety.
Examples: Forklift, Pallet truck, Exoskeleton, Robots, Manipulators, Cranes, Conveyor belt, …
Not included in the topic: any kind of training or manual handling.
.      Manual handling involves workers physically lifting and manipulating the respective materials themselves by pure bodily force
The award will be granted to the Member Company who is judged to have best met the criteria listed. These criteria can be found in Doc 903 EIGA Safety and Environmental Award schemes (see here after login).
Applications (via this form) are welcome at e.vandererven@eiga.eu before 30th September 2023.
