Cristina Ballester joined Air Liquide in 1994 in Spain developing applications of industrial gases in the industrial market, continuing years later developing on-site production solutions for customers. In 2002 she was appointed Commercial Director of the large industries business line, developing large-scale investments and over the fence supply contracts in Spain. In 2008, she moved to France to develop the sale activity of AL core technologies as Commercial Director of AL Engineering in France. She returned to Spain in 2010 as Large Industries Director for Iberia, managing air separation units, steam methane reformers and cogeneration production units in Spain and Portugal, and was appointed General Manager of Spain and Portugal in 2016. During this period she was President of the Association of Manufacturers of Industrial and Medical Gases (AFGIM), member of the board of spanish chemical association (FEIQUE) and of the Spanish electro intensive association (AEGE) Since September 2018, she is Vice President Large Industries Europe with the responsibility to implement the group business and industrial strategy; with special strategic focus on the development of new decarbonation solutions for AL and for the customers supporting them to fight climate change. She is also Chairman of the Societe Europeenne de Gestion de l’énergie (SEGE) , an AL entity that manages energy sourcing for European entities. During the last 10 years Cristina has been a board member of different affiliates on Air Liquide (Gasmedi, AL France Industries, AL Russia, AL Benelux, vice chairman of the supervisory board of Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions Germany, and Chairman of Societe Europeenne de Gestion de l’énergie ). Cristina Ballester, is Spanish and holds a Degree in chemical sciences from the University of Granada.
